The 15th annual Ponoka Downhill Derby was held on Sept. 7 on 42 Ave. in Riverside.
According to event chair Mike York, no top speed was recorded this year as the speed sign wasn’t working.
“It was a great turn out — 20 kids raced and there were lots of spectators,” said York.
This is the second year of the event with the Ponoka Kinsmen Club at the reins, after taking over the race last year.
The even began in 2004 and was hosted by the town, then was taken on by a committee which included community organizations such as the Lions and Kinsmen.
Champions
